Dan is a native of Missouri who lived for a few years in Massachusetts, before returning to Missouri to finish his teaching career.  He credits the comedian, Steve Martin, with sparking his interest in comedy and his appreciation for that which is absurd.  He plans to continue cartooning with the intent of producing more collections.  An avowed porch sitter, he can oftentimes be found in the evening sitting on his back patio just watching the world go by.
