As I mentioned in the previous post, I want to keep you up to date on the progress of the new book. I got very excited when I saw an email from the publisher that was entitled, “Proof” because at this point, all I need to do is approve the proofs before the book goes to print. It didn’t take long to realize that the reason for the email was to let me know that there are glitches in some of the images (as in the images are too large for the page), and that they need to do some more work to make them fit. I did email them back and made some reference to the fact that I was getting anxious to have the new book in hand. I was assured that they would work as quickly as possible to make the corrections. So, it is a little closer to being ready. When I do actually receive the proofs, I will let you know.
If you’ve checked out the home page of the website, you will notice that I’ve started tweeting. My intent is to add one a day at least during the week. As I went through my notebooks, I noticed that I do have a few items that really aren’t cartoons, but seem to work in the format of tweeting – little ideas that are absurd or have a twist. I have the idea in my head that I would like to make them topical because that would definitely separate them from cartoon ideas (I don’t believe I will ever do a topical cartoon). The upside is that tweets represent something new and hopefully enjoyable for you to check out.
Lastly, I plan to add a photos page to the website, possibly in the next couple of days. Will it be insightful? We’ll just see how it evolves. Until next time … smiles and laughter.
